How to root Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3

These are the instructions to root Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 I9205 and I9200 using pre-rooted stock kernel on Windows Computer.

Requirements: Your Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 should have at least 60-70 percent battery to perform the rooting process.

Step 1: Download and install Samsung Kies on your Windows Computer. In case Samsung Kies is already installed then skip this step.

Step 2: Download and extract the root files on your computer. After extracting you will be able to see the following files:

Step 3: Now, Power off your phone.

Step 4: After switching-off the phone, you need to boot into Download Mode. To boot into download mode Press and hold Volume Down Key, Home Button and Power key at same time for 5-8 seconds until download mode is active.

Step 5: In the Download mode you will be able to see a Warning Yellow Triangle Sign. In this situation you have to press the Volume up key to continue.

Step 6: Now, Open Odin3 (You have extracted this in Step#2) on your computer. Then connect your phone to the computer.

Step 7: Once you have connected the phone to the computer, Odin will automatically recognize the device and show “Added” message at the lower-left panel.

Step 8: Once your device is detected by Odin, click on the “PDA” button and select the Pre-rooted-Kernel.tar file that you have extracted in Step #2.

Step 9: Now, click on the “Start” button in Odin to begin the Flashing process.

Step 10: Once you see, the Green Pass message in Odin, then you can disconnect the Device from the computer. During this process your phone will reboot automatically and first reboot will take up to 2 minutes, so please be patient.

Step 11: Now your device is Rooted. To check whether your phone is rooted correctly, open your Applications Menu, there you will be able to see a new app installed, called SuperSU. If this app exist then it means you have successfully rooted your Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3.

[*] No data loss process: Your Phone Data like contacts, pictures, videos, music and etc will be not affected with this method.

[*] Warranty Void: Your Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 Warranty will be Void after following the above tutorial.

[*] Credits: Full credits for the pre-rooted stock kernel goes to XDA Developer “VCore“. Without the pre-rooted stock kernel the above tutorial was not possible.

    Following instructions to the “T”!
    However I keep getting a message on Odin – Complete(Write) Operation Failed
    On the phone it shows – SECURE CHECK FAIL : boot

    what is wrong?

    Developer Options have been enabled on my device, however I get the same results when they are turned off or on.
    I do have a lot of the AT&T and Samsung apps (bloatware) “turned off”.

    Please help!

    Thank you so much guys! I accidentally deleted the photos of my entire trip to Europe on my phone and needed to root it to recover them again. I’ve now recovered them, thanks for your help.

    How could I unroot my phone if I used this method of rooting it, this is just incase I want the warranty back…
